Executive at Waste Firm Admits Taking Bribes for Handing Out Contracts

(Guangzhou) – A senior executive of a state-owned waste management company in the southern province of Guangdong has admitted taking bribes to help businesses get projects.

Li Xiaoxiong, former director of Grantop Group's project development department, stood on trial in Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court on May 10. Prosecutors said he accepted bribes totaling 2.6 million yuan from 2008 to 2015, and he has pled guilty.
