After a recent controversial ad campaign by Dolce & Gabbana (D&G) caused a social media storm in China, other foreign brands including Louis Vuitton are now busy trying to win Chinese people's hearts.

On its official Weibo account Thursday, Louis Vuitton praised China's history of tea-drinking, saying that its "extensive and profound tea culture has created so many artistic highlights in the long course of history."

The comment came with a picture of a teapot case, which is displayed at an ongoing exhibition hosted by the brand in Shanghai – a show that, ironically, is ongoing while Dolce & Gabbana’s own Shanghai show was postponed in the wake of the company’s scandal.

Italian fashion brand Max Mara has also paid tribute to China. A post on its official WeChat account reads: “China, you are the best! I love you, motherland! Unbelievable!”
