Huawei launched new database and storage products Wednesday, after announcing earlier this year that it aims to strengthen the global presence of its cloud business.

The company believes the new products — AI-backed database GaussDB and storage system FusionStorage 8.0 — will strengthen its data infrastructure.

Huawei’s increased focus on data infrastructure comes amid scrutiny abroad of its telecommunications equipment business over security concerns.
