Trending in China: Good Samaritans ‘Coldly’ Told to Self-Isolate After Helping With Overturned Ambulance
Videos circulating online showed an ambulance marked with “Qingdao First Aid” tipped over at an intersection with several people wearing protective suits standing next to it. An article posted on WeChat said passersby walked up and helped to pull patients and medical staff out of the vehicle and waited for the next ambulance.

An accident involving an overturned ambulance in Qingdao on Tuesday spurred a handful of good Samaritans to come to the rescue of the victims stuck inside. But instead of a message of thanks, the local pandemic control office issued a notice asking the rescuers to self-isolate, sparking criticism from social media users for the perceived lack of humanity.
