China Taps Three Coastal Officials for Vice Minister Roles

Three senior officials from China’s coastal provinces have been promoted to vice minister-level positions in central government ministries, according to a State Council announcement on Oct. 27.
Ke Jixin, a vice governor of Zhejiang province, was named vice minister of industry and information technology. Chen Shaowang, the mayor of Dalian in Liaoning province, was appointed vice minister of housing and urban-rural development. Rui Wenbiao, head of Shanghai’s intellectual property bureau, was appointed deputy director of the China National Intellectual Property Administration.
