China July Power Output Increases 4.2%

(.com.cn) China's power output in July rose 4.2 percent year-on-year, extending June's year-on-year growth of 3.6 percent, according to data from the State Grid, one of the country's major power distributors.

This is the second straight month that power output recorded positive growth after monthly year-on-year declines since October last year when demand dropped in the wake of the economic downturn.

The growth in July's power output was driven by a sustained recovery in the economy, an energy analyst told Cajing on Aug. 5.
