Xiamen Announces Pilot Property Tax, Then Takes It Back

The government of the southern Chinese city Xiamen said Friday in an article that it was preparing to launch a pilot property tax as part of efforts to guard against major market fluctuations, but the online article was quickly deleted.

The article was originally posted on the web site of the Xiamen Statistics Bureau. The staff told Caixin that the bureau was dealing with the matter and declined to comment further.
